Michael Walker
Michael is deeply committed to broadening the horizons of Western musical canon and historical performance practices. While he excels in interpreting art songs and contemporary works, he has also showcased his talent as a recitalist. Some of his captivating art song programs include "Deep River: American Spirituals My Mother Taught Me" with Alchymy Viols, "Across the Pond: British Art Songs," "Duet Recital: Romantic Era Joint-Lieder with fortepiano," and "An Evening of Organ and Voice: Sacred Baroque Works." Beyond his performances, Michael actively advocates for early music and classical performing arts. He serves as the vice president of Indianapolis Baroque Orchestra and holds board positions at Early Music America.
Currently, Michael occupies the role of Annual Giving Manager at Central City Opera and serves as a staff singer at St. John’s Cathedral in Denver, Colorado. He is a graduate of the Historical Performance Institute at Indiana University, where he earned a Master of Music in Early Music Performance Practices. He also holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Management from the University of Alabama in Huntsville.
